A family owned school serving the San Fernando Valley / North Hills community for over 16 years. At Power of the Arts Unlimited, our mission is to help each student achieve his/her personal best throughout their martial arts training which includes developing leadership, life skills, and building the champion spirit to help students excel in all aspects of life: family, school/academics, friends and community.
Our dedication and commitment to each student’s success through training is where we excel, in teaching all ages and all abilities taekwondo, hapkido and grappling. We believe in providing exceptional martial arts training that focuses on teaching proper technique, increasing strength, flexibility and overall fitness, as well as developing mental discipline, focus, self‐control, self‐confidence and respect.
Power of the Arts Unlimited is owned and operated by Mrs. Sherre Sharma and her two sons, Mr. Oj Prakash Sharma and Mr. Jagadev “JD” Prakash Sharma.
Meet Our Instructors
Mrs. Sharma, Power of the Arts Owner/Founder, has over 42 years of training experience in dance, gymnastics, martial arts; with the past 20 years specifically focused on taekwondo and hapkido. She is certified through the World Taekwondo Federation (Kukkiwon Headquarters) and the International HKD Federation.
At the early age of six she began training in dance and gymnastics which led to performing, teaching, judging and even traveling/performing abroad with the Ball State University International Dance Troupe. Moving to California from Indiana in 1983 led to her approximately 30 year marriage to Mr. Om Prakash Sharma who encouraged her to expand her training from dance to martial arts, which led to the ultimate opening of Power of the Arts Unlimited in 1998.
Mrs. Sharma continues to serve as an educator, supporter, and champion of students and community members, promoting the value of education, discipline, and pursuit of achievement through martial arts training, competition, and performance.
Mr. Oj Prakash Shama has been training taekwondo and hapkido for nearly 20 years. Mr. Sharma is certified through the Kukkiwon World Taekwondo Federation Headquarters and the International HKD Federation. Mr. Sharma was a varsity wrestler who has trained with NCAA all americans and hall of fame coaches across the United States.Mr. Sharma was a successful tournament competitor winning many tournaments and several state titles.
He continues to learn and practice to serve as a teacher, rolemodel, and coach to many successful competitors. Mr. Sharma has a JD from CA Western School of Law and his BA from UCI.
Mr. Jagadev ”JD“ Prakash Sharma has been training in taekwondo and hapkido for nearly 20 years. He is certified through the Kukkiwon World Taekwondo Federation Headquarters and the International HKD Federation. Mr. Sharma has a comprehensive grappling background in wrestling and brazilian jiu jitsu and has trained with world renowned coaches and champions.
Mr. Sharma continues to compete, winning many tournament titles and national titles. He continues to train, learn and practice to serve as a teacher, role model and coach to many successful competitors. Mr. Sharma has his Masters Degree from USC and BA from UCI.
We are appreciative of the invaluable association(s) of many great teachers, coaches, trainers, and practitioners who have shared their knowledge, experiences, and lessons with us over the past 20 plus years. We are honored to continue the great traditions of teaching, training, and coaching to help our students dream achieve succeed in reaching their goals both on and off the mat.
